Carbon cycle

Fossil Fuels Millions of years ago there was a mass extinction. 95% of all life on earth died. These dead things eventually got buried under ground and got heated-up and squished. They were turned into fossil fuels. Crude oil (heating oil, gasoline, wax…) Natural gas (propane, butane…)

Carbon in the Atmosphere Carbon into atmosphere Carbon out of atmosphere Cellular Respiration Volcanoes Burning Fossil Fuels Photosynthesis Dissolved in the ocean Carbon sequestering

Climate Change CO2 has a strong impact on our climate As CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere increase so does the average global temperature

Questions Where does oil and gasoline come from? What things (give 3) are human society doing to affect the carbon cycle? How could more CO2 be taken out of the atmosphere? What are the negatives associated with this? Is climate change bad/good? (write a paragraph defending your idea)
