Preparing for Our Gospel Meeting Our last Gospel meeting was very poorly attended. Few visitors Few members Perhaps there were many reasons for this. Legitimate reasons Each of us knows his own heart Let’s consider how to prepare now to avoid that happening again.

Preparing for Our Gospel Meeting Why have a gospel meeting? Some have discontinued them. Some have shortened them. In the past they were major opportunities for conversions. Now they are more for edification. The elders are to feed the flock (1 Pet. 5:1-2; Heb. 13:17). The church is to proclaim the truth (1 Tim. 3:14-15). PURPOSE PLAN ACT SEIZE GROW

Preparing for Our Gospel Meeting What can we do now to prepare for this opportunity to be fed and proclaim the truth? Schedule our time (Acts 10:24-33). Juggle our work schedule. Get some extra sleep.

Invite someone (John 1:35-45). The gospel hasn’t changed. This is a good way to show you care. Who knows if they will be saved? PURPOSE PLAN ACT SEIZE GROW

Preparing for Our Gospel Meeting What can we do now to prepare for this opportunity to be fed and proclaim the truth? Take advantage of the opportunity (Eph. 5:15-17). Invite the preacher into your home (Phil. 2:25-30; 1 Thess. 5:12-13). He has traveled and prepared. He can offer things I can not. It will be worth it in many ways (Col. 3:23-24). PURPOSE PLAN ACT SEIZE GROW

Preparing for Our Gospel Meeting What can we do now to prepare for this opportunity to be fed and proclaim the truth? This is an opportunity to grow. We should crave the word (1 Pet. 2:1-3). The word can work powerfully (1 Thess. 2:13). Our presence—our invitation—can help others grow—perhaps help others be saved (1 Thess. 1:6-10). PURPOSE PLAN ACT SEIZE GROW
