Foundation stage people + Communities Chinese New Year 2017

Foundation stage had so much fun celebrating Chinese new year on the year of the rooster. We made dragon masks, practised using chop sticks and watched some beautiful dragon dancing. In foundation we work from a document called ‘development matters’. This is how we assess children and help them with their next steps. This is the statement linked to our learning this week. Development matters: 30-50M + 40-60M Recognises and describes special times or events for family or friends.

This will help us strengthen our fingers to help us with our writing. Using Chop Sticks. We were practising using chop sticks to lift bottle tops out of our glittery water bowls. This will help us strengthen our fingers to help us with our writing.

Dragon Mask Making. We loved making our dragon masks and watching beautiful dragon dancing. Some of us had a go at making our own dragon dances.

Happy New Year!

Parents can help by….. If you would like to share any family celebrations or events with us please feel free to bring in photographs, special clothing, items or books so your child can share their special moments with our class. We love hearing about special celebrations and would love to celebrate with you too! Thank you, The EYFS Team 
