Martin Phillips Memorial Golf Day at Buckinghamshire Golf Club A massive group of players gathered at an excellent Buckinghamshire golf club for a Day in memory of Martin Phillips and it was also the first Society Day of the season. It was newcomer Matt Gray who made a mockery of the course, winning with an unbelievable score, finishing three under par for his round. In a close second was Lee Randall followed not so closely by Richard Procter, who picked up the maximum Leaderboard points for the day. There were many other new players and they are most welcome to come again to play with the Society although maybe Jeff O’Sullivan might want to nip down the range for a bit first as he trailed in on the day with only 14 points. He was spared handshaking duties as Peter Phillips was Master of Ceremonies afterwards and he made an excellent job of it as there were prizes aplenty in a well organized day. Credit must go to both Greg Phillips and David Richards who set the day up and ensured it went smoothly for everyone. It was nice to see some players returning to action with the Society having not played a while for various reasons. Among those returning were Chris Hill, Steve Keating, Jason Mills, Roger Moses, Derek Lewis and Neil Shipperley, it would be great to see them again.
