Historical Notes -Exploration and Production The year 1936 could be regarded as the beginning of the exploration works for oil and gas in Bulgaria During the period after 1947 and up to this day the most significant geological-geophysical and drilling onshore operations were carried out, which lead to the discovery of 9 commercial oil and gas fields Since 1976 production has increased to a maximum of 2.4 Mbbl of oil and 6.7 BCF of gas in 1980 Historical Notes -Exploration and Production
