Recce Preparation

Photography Studio We will check the photography studio before we use any equipment. Also we are going to check the lighting equipment. We would also book suitable slots for us to have permission in the photography studio. We would prefer to have a dark but eye-catching colour as the background. This all depends on Scott, who is in charge of what coloured backdrops are used for the week etc. This means we would have to discuss with him before if we want a specific colour. The electrical power sources will be reviewed continuously so no hazards are in our shoots. The equipment will be checked by staff first. Health and Safety checks will be done as no one can take part if they don’t want to be included in shoots or if it has something to do with health, this is for everyone’s safety.

TV Studio Before we enter the TV studio we will make sure we asked for permission from a member of staff who is in the media department. After we would make sure the TV studio is in good function. All elements of electrical power sources will be checked over so no one is at risk of danger. Equipment such as the lights will be checked over so we have no disruptions in our shoots. In the TV studio we will be used the projector for effects for our music video. We will make sure the computer is in use so we can use the projector as a backdrop for our lip sync actor. The TV studio is appropriate as it is relevant to our music video’s narrative. We will also ask permission for a number of people to take part in one of our shoots as there might be a hazard with a lot of people being in one room.

College Field / Outside The College Gates If we tend to use the college field, we would make sure the weather is fine. If it is raining we can’t bring any equipment outside as equipment may break or may become damaged. We would do a check around the area we would like the film. We would check with people and warn them that we are filming in case someone does not want to be caught on camera. If we was to include dialogue outside we would have to make sure the mic does not capture wind, as that tends to happen. Also if it is sunny, the actor/s may be bleached out by the sun, we have to make sure we get good lighting.
