HF Test station at P5 A.Mestvirishvili

Test stand at P5 According the schedule shown equipping the ROBOX test stand at P5 has to star at 1.09.10 By that time has to be defined what kind of data we have to take : LASER,LED – at different intensities, different HV etc. Has to be defined equipment needed – MiniDAQ, Front End, HV(modified Bulgarian PSU), LV, cables (all sort – HV, LV, ROBOX to QIE), LASER system, we may need a scope(s) as well (depending on a task to be performed) As I recall here at CERN we had 6 MiniDAQ’s – three of them are in use – test beam, B28, B904. One was sitting at plus side alcove partially dismounted. Somewhere should be two other MiniDAQ. We need AT LEAST one fully functional MiniDAQ. Better two.

Front End – QIE, CCM, CM With one fully equipped HF frond end crate we can test three ROBOX at the same time, that makes Twelve QIE board, crate, one CCM, one CM, supporting stuffs – fibers to connect CM and ROBOXes , cables. My proposal is to have a two fully equipped HF QIE crate. We can connect 6 ROBOX at same time. That makes: Two crates 24 QIE cards 2 CCM One CM (Of course if we have/will have so many QIE cards available, cards in our possession are HF spear)

DAQ Fully equipped MiniDAQ – HTR’s, DCC, all supporting stuffs like trigger boards, TTC, fibers etc One fully equipped QIE crate occupies 1.5 HTR With two QIE crate (24 QIE card) we will need 3 HTR + one DCC etc.

LV and HV and cables at test stand LV – here we can be flexible. Use any kind of LV system which provides at leas 30Amp and 6.5 and 5V (let say similar LV PSU used to power up QIE crates used during test beams or CAEN system) HV preferably modified Bulgarian PSU, do not want to mess around with custom developed systems, adapters etc. By the time we start equipping test stand at P5 we have to have already at least six set of signal cables – they will be different then existing ones. Six set of HV cables.

What do we have and what to do Locate MiniDAQ (at least one) – 3 HTR’s, one DCC etc. QIE’s – one crate with 12 QIE cards ,one functional CCM and CM sits in a B904 We have some QIE’s in storage – need to verify quantity. Do we have chance to build more QIE’s? YES – perfect, NO – we have to deal with what we have and work in way that use some for test stand and some to have as a spears. One LV power supply we have in storage – verify if it works and provides enough current to power up two box.
