Presentation transcript:

Greeting from The Gambia!  Today we are going to look at our water foot prints and how much water we use a day!

Water is very precious ! Everyone needs water to live and many die because they don’t have access to it

We don’t have water on tap like you do in England so first we have to take containers to a well to collect some!

Of course one of the main uses we have for water is to drink!

As you know the climate in The Gambia is very hot so it’s very important to have access to clean water so we don’t dehydrate or get ill

Keep things clean is also very important to keep us from contracting germs and disease

Here I am washing plates and cups ready to be used again

Because of the heat everything gets very dusty and dirty so it’s important to wash all the pots and pans too!

We also need water for our plants and crops

It does not rain at all In the dry season so it’s very important we have water to be able to keep our food crops alive and healthy!

Having water to wash ourselves with is also very important!

Being able to wash helps keeps us clean and healthy! It’s also nice to be cooled down! 

How much water do you think you use a day to wash with? We have to use water carefully as it’s a lot of effort to carry back from a well How much water do you think you use a day to wash with?

Well we hope you enjoyed our presentation!

We have learnt lots about water and consumption and we hope you have to! 
