[mbelcher@inasp.info] STIMULATE/INASP Workshop: Accessing Information in Developing Countries - Introduction Accessing Information in Developing Countries Electronic Resources and the University Library Facilitator: Martin Belcher [mbelcher@inasp.info] Welcome to the workshop. Outline sent in advance. Covers the range of electronic resources available to the academic and the role of the university library in their access. Focus on developing countries. Third time this workshop has been offered. We have revised the content to take into account the comments of participants from the previous years. This year presentations have been shortened, because we realize that familiarity with e-resources is becoming more common. Instead we have introduced an online exercise, as that you have actual practice in accessing e-resources in your own subject specialization. Group discussions remain a key feature of the day, at the request of both the previous workshops. We cannot change time. Only one day allowed. Not everything can therefore be covered and in depth. But we hope that you will find the content relevant both to your current work and future career. Copyright INASP – see: http://inasp.info/training/training-materials-copyright.html for more details.
