Doctoral Coordinators: Approve for Admission or Waitlist ADMIT Doctoral Coordinators: Approve for Admission or Waitlist

Approve for Admission or Waitlist Some important things to be aware of before making your Admissions and Waitlist decisions: Before any department can make an Admission Offer the application/applicant must be approved by the Vice Dean and a “Background Check” must be done by the Doctoral office. The Doctoral Office does NOT notify of Waitlist Decisions that is the department’s responsibility, unless otherwise requested by the department. There are several ways to request admissions for an application in Admit. To approve an application for Admit or Waitlist: Tag Coordinator Decision Drag

Approve for Admission or Waitlist Tag From the Application tab, check an applicant’s name(s) – if you want to select more than one at a time, select Tag from the Action dropdown menu Check the Admit tag OR Waitlist tag and click TAG The application(s) will automatically remove from the pool and be sent to the Admit pool (or Waitlist pool) and the Vice Dean pool for the Vice Dean review The Coordinator Decision field will update to Admit or Waitlist

Approve for Admission or Waitlist Coordinator Decision To Admit or Waitlist an individual applicant, double click the applicant’s name from the Application’s tab, which will bring you into the applicant’s file On the right-hand side you will see the Coordinator box From the Coordinator Decision dropdown select Admit or Waitlist Click the SAVE button The application(s) will automatically remove from the pool and be sent to the Admit (or Waitlist pool) and the Vice Dean pool for the Vice Dean review The Coordinator Decision field will update to Admit or Waitlist

Approve for Admission or Waitlist Drag From the Application tab, check an applicant’s name(s) – if you want to select more than one at a time You can now drag the applicant(s) to the Admit or Waitlist pool NOTE: The application(s) will also REMAIN in the current pool. To remove the application from the pool in which you are working, use the Remove action from the Action dropdown. The application(s) will automatically remove from the pool and be sent to the Admit (or Waitlist pool) and the Vice Dean pool for the Vice Dean review The Coordinator Decision field will update to Admit or Waitlist

Approve for Admission or Waitlist   Notes about Admitting an Applicant Once an applicant is tagged, dragged or given a Coordinator Decision of Admit, the Vice Dean will be notified If the Vice Dean approves, the Doctoral Office will then run a background check of the applicants. Once the background check is complete, the Doctoral Coordinator will receive a notification asking for the Offer Letter, which must approved by the Vice Dean and the Doctoral Programs office before it sent to the admit. Once the Vice Dean approves, the background check is complete, and the offer letter approved, the Coordinator/department may send an offer letter to the admit Please be sure to CC and send a copy of the offer letter to the Doctoral Programs office (msaia@wharton.upenn.edu) Notes about Waitlisting an Applicant Once an applicant is tagged, dragged or given a Coordinator Decision of Waitlist, the Vice Dean will be notified If the Vice Dean approves the Waitlist, the Doctoral Coordinator will receive a notification of the Vice Dean decision The Doctoral Coordinator will need to make a final decision on the applicant (Admit or Deny) by the April 15th admissions deadline
