Educational resources for children Ellé

One learning resource that stood out to me was the idea of Rhymes. FLASH CARDS Teach young children vocabulary. Matching pictures with the words. The sounds that the letters produce. Rhymes POEM Focus on a topic and interest the children with the flowing language. Educational Could be put in a visual flip book or poster.

BBC Bitesize Animated games to help children learn. Interactive Very visual and exciting I like this idea because its something that would attract the target audience

Story books Visual and engaging. Can be read by a teacher or older students can do independent reading. Can be imaginative or educational Whilst researching I found a series called ‘Little people, Big dreams’, this interested me because the series focuses on known people from designers to scientists

Videos Visually educates children- keeping them interested whilst giving information. Cartoon or realistic depending what age or what the video is about. Relatable to children as they probably watch TV at home. For more complex subjects, a visual video would help to educate children. I looked on Youtube and I found a range of cartoon videos explaining autism for young children. In order for the videos to be successful I think that they need to be made quite short, because if they are too long younger children may lose interest and start to get irritable

Pop up books Visual – tell a story through images Creates imagination Can be a hard copy or projected onto a screen for a whole class. Pop up books I really like the idea of a pop up book for a younger audience. I feel like they would remain interested throughout as it’s something new to what they see everyday. It’s also something you can push the boundaries with and experiment with how it’s presented.
