Minimum Mandatory Standards for Anesthesia Delivery

GOALS Qualified Anaesthesiologist PAC Investigations Monitoring Anaesthesia Machine – Fully functional Other Equipments & Drugs Defibrillator Adequate facility to manage emergency & To transfer patient if required

SAFETY CHECKLIST Ø Continuous supply of oxygen cylinders Ø Anaesthesia machine with two oxygen and a nitrous oxide cylinders Ø One emergency oxygen cylinder mounted on Anesthesia machine with spanner. Ø Anesthesia machine with hypoxic guard safety system

Working suction machine with all connectors, tubing's, and catheters Multi-parameter monitors including pulse oxymeter, ECG, NIBP, EtCO2(in Laparoscopy) thermo probe for temperature monitoring for pediatric patient. Adequate no of protective lead aprons (If X ray/C-arm is used) Protective glasses( with laser) Defibrillator

Ambu bag with all size of masks Working laryngoscope with all sizes of blades, set of oral, nasal airway and endotracheal tubes of all sizes with stylets Magill’ s forceps, scissors, ampoule cutter, torch, thermometer Peripheral venous cannula 14,16,18, 20, 22, 24 spinal needles -23, 24, 25, 26, 27, epidural set 16,18, 3 way connectors & extension tubings.

I.V. sets, micro drip sets, blood transfusion set IV fluids crystalloids RL, DNS, D5, colloids For difficult airways bougie, LMA , Crico-thyroidotomy set, 14,16 gauge needle Tilting OT table Radiant warmer/ blanket(Optional) Heating mattress , fluid warmer (Optional) Postoperative recovery room with oxygen supply and monitors (If not available , pt to be kept in OT till adequate recovery)

Recommended Anaesthesia Drugs in all OT IV ANAESTHETIC DRUGS - Sodium Thiopentone ,Propofol,Ketamine,Etomidate,Midazolam, Dexmedetomidine INHALATION AGENTS – Halothane,Isoflurane Sevoflurane MUSCLE RELAXANTS – Succinylcholine, Vecuronium,Atracurium,Rocuronium,Cis-atracurium Reversal Agent –Neostigmine, Myopyrolate

PREMEDICATION – Glycopyrollate, Atropine, Ranitidine, Ondansetron, Pentoprazole ANALGESICS – Diclofenac, Tramadol, Paracetamol, Fentanyl, Fortwin , Buprenorphine,Butraphanol. LOCAL ANAESTHETICS – Xylocaine, Xylocaine with Adr, Ropivacaine, Chloro procain, Bupivacaine, Bupivacaine heavy

OTHER DRUGS -Clonidine All size spinal needles Epidural sets

Emergency Medicines Atropine,Glycopyrolate Adrenaline, Amiodarone Dextrose 25% Dopamine, Dobutamine Noradrenaline Nitroglycerine Sodabicarb 8.4% Hydrocortisone ,Chlorphenaramine ,Furosemide KCL, Deriphylline ,Calcium Gluconate Mephenteramine ,Aminophylline , Oxytocine , Methylergometrin Xylocard 2% ,Dexamethasone, Metoprolol Tranexamic Acid ,Magsulph 25% & 50%

IV Fluids Ringer lactate, 5% Dextrose, Normal Saline DNS, Plasmalyte Colloids, 3% Saline Intralipid 20%
