How to search and access You can search LA Times articles through Gale Academic OneFile or LA Times Archive. You can access LA Times articles through physical copies, digitally, or microfilm – it depends on the date of the article (plus, of course, the Internet) LA Times is not part of EBSCO

Available as Microfilm 1/1/98 – 6/30/17 NOTE: There is a few months’ delay in getting microfilm. But never fear. We have physical copies.

Physical Copies We receive and post the LA Times each day with the Current Periodicals. Back issues are retained at the Circulation Desk until superseded by microfilm

How to find an LA Times article

You can search LA Times directly through Gale Academic OneFile

Step 1 Go to “Find an Article” on the Library’s home webpage.

Step 2 Click on “LA Times Index and Archives”

Step 3 Enter the search term in the “Search for” box. Change your “Date Options” if needed. Click the “Search” button.

Step 4 Read the titles. If something sounds interesting, you can read the summary of the article (Click FREE in front of the article).

Step 5 Read the abstract. If you decide you want to see this article, write down the date and page number.

Step 6 To find the article, click on “Digital New York Times and L.A. Times”

Step 7 Fill out the necessary information. Choose “Los Angeles Times – Library Edition after clicking on “Select.” NOTE: Using this method, you can access articles from 1/1/08 to 5/31/17 (as of today) . Paper copy is kept at Circulation Desk until microfilm comes in.

Step 8 The page you requested will appear in the screen. The + will make it larger. You can also save and print from here. The page you requested will appear in the screen.
