The amount of time required to develop a presentation is directly proportional to how high the stakes are. A presentation highlights what is most important to your message and should not to be used as a document or for displaying all your data. Use it to communicate conclusions and insights to make your case. Use contrast to draw the eye to the information that is most critical to your message. Information on each slide should be large enough to allow the audience to clearly distinguish the information without straining. You should never be in a situation where you are apologizing to your audience because they are unable to read the slide. What’s the message you want them to take away. Develop the presentation with 2 or 3 key messages of what you want the audience to remember. You can have many slides that explain each message, but the audience will follow the presentation better if they have a simple structure for listening.
