The wider/global context The Organisation for Economic country development (OECD) has reviewed 22 countries and their education systems School starting age influences the timing and nature of children’s transitions There is currently some debate concerning the appropriate age for children to start school. What are your views on this?

Group task seminar presentation From the list of countries provided choose one to research What are the early childhood/school/FE provisions in that country? What age do the children begin school (Primary and Secondary)? What are the ratios? What are the key aims of their curriculum in comparison to your chosen curricula framework?
