Department Mission To ensure high quality drinking water is efficiently delivered to Lethbridge County. Instill confidence within our residents that their drinking water is safe, well managed, and all applicable regulations are met or exceeded. Core Services Operation and maintenance of; 2 Water Treatment Plants, 19 Water Distribution Systems; 2 Large Regional Water Systems; County Airport Water and Wastewater Systems, 7 Truck Fill Facilities; and 8 Sewage Collection and Lagoon Systems. 25 October 2017
Core Services Manage and assist with operations of Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission. County Utility operators move two recycle trailers to County hamlets and subdivisions. 14 September 2018
Challenges/Opportunities Meet all regulatory requirements for our water and wastewater systems as set out by Alberta Environment and Parks. Maximize funding by seeking out any grant programs that may be beneficial to our citizens. Provide water testing and monitoring services to other communities under service agreements. Meet or exceed water quality guidelines as set forth under the Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines. May require more than one slide 25 October 2017
Challenges/Opportunities Ensure Operations and Maintenance programs and Emergency Response Plans for County water and wastewater systems are updated and accurate. Update the Security Program initiated by AB Environment to protect our potable water supply from a variety of possible threats. Ensure our Safety Programs are in compliance with WCB and OH&S Regulations. 25 October 2017
