Moravian Aerospace Cluster My name is Petr Tomasek and I’m representing Moravian Aerospace Cluster. Let me tell you some brief information about our cluster organization and our members. Ing. Petr Tomášek

History Pillars Regions Remarkable Aviation Strategic 30s – 40s Avia B-35 Remarkable Aviation History L-410 Strategic Pillars 30s – 40s 70s – 90s 50s – 60s Today Innovation EV-55 Key factor in aviation L-200 Education L13 Blaník L-410 NG Cooperation with Universities Collaboration Regions Resolving problems together Marketing Our members are companies and universities from Eastern and Southern part of Czech Republic, so from regions with great aviation history reaching back into nineteenth thirties. Nowadays we work on our vision to cover whole Moravia or eastern part of Czech Republic and western part of Slovakia. As a cluster organization we have some strategic pillars or visions in our work. Here you can see four most important of them. For example innovation which we see as key factor in aviation, together with education, where we aim to cooperation with universities. We see strong need to educate aviation professionals in Czech Republic. As open platform we are trying to motivate companies to collaborate between each other or to collaborate with foreign companies to resolve common problems and to establish new partnerships. And of course we provide joint marketing for our members Jointly represent members

Information Complex Offer Basic MAC Skills Here is an overview and basic facts: our members produced until today more than 2500 aircraft in categories from light sport aircraft up to commuter. They employ counted more than 2000 people. With overall turnover exceeded 200 million of euros and participated in more than 20 innovation projects all across an Europe. Our members are able to offer complex skills from research, development and design of aircraft of course with manufacturing capabilities for those aircraft and aircraft structures. They use some special and sometimes unique technologies. Are holders of all needed certificates and are able to certify aircraft and aircraft systems. And also they have important testing capabilities.

Member’s skills Avionics and electrical systems Our Development of avionics EDU/FADEC control system Fuel quantity measurement On-board electrical network monitoring Electrical convertors Cable harnesses Electro-mechanical units Electronic equipment Now let me introduce our members and field of their business. So the areas are Development and production of power units. Avionics and Electrical systems

Member’s skills Interiors and composite parts Precision casting Our Disk of landing gears wheels Parts of aircraft system Impeller wheels and diffusion rings: AUP Jet engines A/C units Composite parts production Carbon-fibre composites Composites engineering High quality aircraft interiors Interior and composite parts, precision casting

Member’s skills Precision engineering R&D and Design Our Precise machining: Al Steel alloys Advanced CNC mach. Centers Sheet metal work Metallic tooling design Stress Calculations Static. Fatigue and Dynamic Analysis Airframe Electrical systems Aircraft Engines Precision Engineering, RandD and Design

Member’s skills Development and manufacturing in aircraft industry Our Aircraft categories: Commuter (EV55) LSA (Harmony) EASA cert. (SportStar) Adv. UL (EuroStar) DOA, POA, Test Approval Czech maker of transport aircraft DOA, POA, Test Approval, MOA, MTO Development testing Aircraft: Commuter (L410) Development and Manufacturing in Aircraft industry

Member’s skills Surface and heat treatment Education and R&D Our Education in the field Aviation Reserach and tests of aircraft and equipment Polymeric materials Surface treatment Training, simulation systems Plastic coating Metal coating Robotic Operation Heat Treatment of Metals All kind of surface treatment a lastly Education or Universities

Member’s skills Flight School Other services Our AVIATION CONSULTING AND CERTIFIED TRANSLATION Software development according to DO-178 Theoretical and practical training Aircraft rental All kind of surface treatment a lastly Education or Universities

Cost Effective Small Aircraft Evektor – EV 55 Outback Projects CESAR: Cost Effective Small Aircraft Evektor – EV 55 Outback ALICIA (EU 7thFP): All Condition Oper. And Innovative Cockpit Infracstructure Cost effective small aircraft – aim was developing small aircraft, up to 9 passenger which is called Evektor EV -55 Outback. Right now in certification process and two flying prototypes

Modernisation of L-410 aircraft Projects MOSTA: L410 NG Modernisation of L-410 aircraft ENFICA - FC: Environmentally Friendly Inter City Aircraft powered by Fuel Cells MOSTA project – funded by Czech Government for modernization of very successful L-410 aircraft. And Development of Environmentally Friendly Inter City Aircraft powered by Fuel Cells

We Want to Offer – Cooperation Complex Skills – thanks to member’s capabilities Development, production and certification of aircraft from light sport to commuter category. Where We See Opportunities Cooperation with Aerospace Industry: Companies Partnership in EU aerospace projects Supplying products and technologies Universities Partnership in R&D Associations Cooperation in long term development plans Our vision and also our advantage is that we are able to offer a Complex Skills – I could say from development, production and certification from light sport aircraft to commuter category. Every process and collaboration is quick and effective because our members are within quite small area. Also one fact to be considered is that every fourth light aircraft in the world is developed manufactured in Czech Republic. We are so happy to have an opportunity to be an EACP member and we see great potential in being part of this network of professionals. We would be happy to participate in future projects and we hope that we will be able to help EACP and other European clusters. So we will do our best to be useful member of European Aerospace Cluster Partnership!
