We want to make the length of time important!!! Use of past perfect progressive: -longer actions in the past which happened before something else -showing cause and effect I had been sleeping for 5 hours when I heard the sound of my alarm. My family is excited because I had been earning a lot of money. We want to make the length of time important!!!
