ERASMUS+ HOW I BECAME A DOCTOR
Hello everyone, I’m Luca. I’m a doctor specialised in general surgery.
These are all the steps you have to take in order to become a doctor in Italy: (6 years) First part You are have to have a high school diploma You need to do the entrance exam to the Medicine and Surgery faculty You do all this course with all the exams -Then you graduate
(4-5 years) Second part You need a three-months compulsory internship You should take the exam to be registered on the medical register You have to choose your specialisation After these years of specialisation, you finally become a specialised doctor
These are the steps I took to begin my carrer I studied at the Italian Liceo Classico
After 6 years I graduated in 2005 I attended my university course at «Università La Sapienza» in Rome After 6 years I graduated in 2005
I decided to become a surgeon My specialisation course lasted 5 years: The first four years at «Università degli Studi di Perugia» I won a scholarship I finished my specialisation abroad at the «University of Edinburgh» in Scotland in 2010
Infectious diseases Anatomy Surgery Pathology Biology Genetics Some of the subjects I studied are: Infectious diseases Anatomy Surgery Biology Pathology Genetics Chemistry Physiology Pharmacology
Professional experiences: Assistant Professor at the “Università degli Studi di Perugia”, 2011 Medical Assistant at the Hospital of Perugia, 2011 Responsible for the surgical department at the Hospital of Perugia, 2012-present Since 2011 I have held seminars of vascular sugery at the “Università degli Studi di Perugia”
