Mentor Program
You put the “POW” in power! Get your Superhero ON What is a mentor? A mentor is a caring, responsible adult who encourages a student to develop their strengths and abilities. A mentor is a role model, a friend, a guide, a motivator, a coach, and a cheerleader… a part of the team cheering their SIDEKICK on! A mentor is committed to helping his or her mentee(s) be successful in school and life. You put the “POW” in power!
Expectations of All Mentors Attend a one hour district training at the Berry Center. Pass a comprehensive background check. Once you begin mentoring, you will need to meet with your “sidekick” on a consistent basis once a week. 4. Sign in at the front desk each week.
How do I choose my mentee? Once approved, I will contact you We will discuss your preferences - boy or girl, grade level, type of mentee and scheduling constraints Initial Meeting: 20 minutes to an hour Weekly meetings with mentee: 30 minutes – 1 hour
