Introduction Do you want to learn some facts about dolphins? Of course you! Lets get started about these amazing creatures.

Habitat Where dolphins live depends on their species. Dolphins migrate depending on where their food is. They also live in harbors, bays, lagoons, gulfs, and tributaries.

Adaptations Three adaptations are swimming ability, group hunting, and echolocation. A dolphins long nose can help them kill sharks. They need oxygen to help them breath under water.

Food/Prey Small dolphins eat krill, shrimp, sea plants, squid, and small fish. Bigger dolphins eat other mammal such as sea lions and sea turtles. Lastly, dolphins are omnivores because they eat animals and plants

Predators First of all a killer whale are enemies of dolphins. Some dolphins can kill sharks. But, larger sharks can eat dolphins.

Life Span Dolphins can live up to 50 years in wild life. But they live only 17 years if they don’t live in wild life. A bottle nose dolphin can live up to 40 or 50 years.

Appearance A dolphin has a smooth rubbery body and a long bottle like nose. It has a tail which is webbed at the bottom. All dolphins have dorsal fins. Dolphins have a single blowhole.

Conclusion Lastly, here are some fast facts. Grown up female dolphins are called cows. Grown up male dolphins are called bulls. Baby dolphins are called calves. Did you know that dolphins are mammals?
