ALIENS ON ASSIGNMENT (John 17:14-19) Jn 17;14b “…And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world…” What do we understand from the text we have read? We are not of this world though we are in it God’s word has set us apart from the world The world hates us because we have been set apart We are on earth for a while on assignment for Jesus We need God’s protection to stay safe from the evil one (satan) God’s word is what purifies us and makes us holy Jesus’ blood is what qualifies us for cleansing by God’s word

ALIENS ON ASSIGNMENT (John 17:14-19) Jn 17;14b “…And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world…” Conclusion: Believers are Aliens on Assignment God has called us out of the world through His only begotten Son, Jesus, Who came and died that He might win us to Himself forever. Since we accepted that sacrifice, we have become alien to the world as we no longer are subject to the condemnation and slavery to sin that binds those who are in it. We must continually seek the Word of God and honour His Spirit in us that we might stay protected from the ruler of this world who is jealous of our new status and has caused the world to hate us without cause. We must also hasten to complete our assignment so our Master will be pleased when He returns to take us with Him to glory.
