The Digestive System By Casey Repsher

Role and Function Digestive System is for the digesting of the food you eat Responsible for providing us with nutrition Supplies water and fundamental chemical elements obtained from food

Diseases Digestive infection can happen if too many germs form Infection will cause stomach discomfort Infection may pass in a few hours or it could become life threatening

Diseases digestive problems occur frequently due to food we consume Infections and cancer may occur

Working Together Works with respiratory, circulatory, and skeletal system Circulatory helps transport waste out of the body Respiratory helps with breathing [includes the lungs] Skeletal helps by giving your body its shape

Exercise Aerobic exercise (exercise that increases your breathing and heart rate) and deep breathing exercises (yoga) are very beneficial for healthy digestion, because they stimulate the natural contraction of intestinal muscles, helping to move food through your intestines more rhythmically. Sit-Ups help strengthen the muscles in the abdominal area

Organs of the Digestive System Esophagus Stomach Large Intestine Small Intestine Liver Pancreas Appendix
