HELICS accepted DICOM HELICS: Health Information and Communication Standards Board HELICS board requested JIRA to submit DICOM to register as a healthcare information standard for Japanese healthcare community. They formed a committee which discussed its adequacy for Japan and approved it as a recommendable standard.
A users’ request Doctors at university hospitals in Japan stated a need that there is a study which requires to produce multiple reports. Example: A clinician orders a study by a CT which scans from chest to pelvis of a patient. A CT scans chest, abdomen, and pelvis of a patient. Three reports are created for the chest, the abdomen, and the pelvis and delivered to multiple clinicians. Is this a case that requires to modify the DICOM model or is an erroneous imaging order?
