I Love Christmas Second Grade

(all kids say, yeah! You’re right!) –- I sure do love Christmas carols, snow and mistletoe! It gives me a warm feeling just to think about it! 2. –- Me, too,! We all like the things that go along with the Christmas season. 3. –- But here it is the middle of December and I don’t see a single Christmas tree or twinkling light. Say nothing about us kissing under the mistletoe. (all kids say, yeah! You’re right!)

5. –- We need a little tinsel! 6. –- We need a little evergreen tree! 4. –- Who can get in the Christmas spirit in the middle of this program, in a school auditorium without a trace of holiday decoration or atmosphere? (all kids say “Not me!” and “No one!” etc.) 5. –- We need a little tinsel! 6. –- We need a little evergreen tree! 7. –- We need a little music! 8. –- We need a little Christmas!

put up the tree before my – spirit falls again; Fill up the stocking, Haul out the holly, put up the tree before my – spirit falls again; Fill up the stocking, We may be rushing things, but – deck the halls again now. For we need a little Christmas, right this very minute, Candles in the window, carols at the spinet

Yes, we need a little Christmas, right this very minute. -It hasn’t snowed a single flurry, - Oh, Santa, dear, we’re in a hurry! Climb down the chimney, Hang up the brightest string of – lights I’ve ever seen; Slice up the fruit cake, It’s time we hung some tinsel – on that evergreen bough….

For I’ve grown a little leaner, grown a little colder, grown a little sadder, grown a little older and I Need a little angel, sitting on my shoulder, We need a little Christmas now!

We nee__d a li__ttle Chri___stma___s now! (Music to decorate the Christmas tree by….. some kids DO decorate the tree!) We nee__d a li__ttle Chri___stma___s now! 9.-Now that’s more like it!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go; Take a look in the five and ten, glistening once again, With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Toys in every store. But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door!

() A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots is the wish of Barney and Ben; () Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk is the hope of Janice and Jen; (ALL) And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go; There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park, as well, The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.

And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Soon the bells will start…. And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart.

10. - What I love best about Christmas is that more than any other time of the year, everyone in the family comes home!

Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays. ‘Cause no mat__ter how far away you roam. When you pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze, For the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home.

If you want to be happy in a million ways, For the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home.

11. -It IS wonderful to be home for Christmas! 12. -But there have been times when well, people who love Christmas and home as much as we do …well…they’ve only been able to imagine the “ chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the smell of Mom’s roasting turkey and the friendly voices of the Christmas carolers.

I’ll be home for Christmas You can plan on me () I’ll be home for Christmas You can plan on me Please have snow and mistletoe And presents on the tree

(solo, continued) Christmas Eve will find me Where the lovelight gleams (all) I’ll be home for Chri__stmas….. (solo) If only in my dreams………
