What is Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence (RMPEx)? A self-supporting, 501c3 non-profit volunteer (~100) organization, affiliated with the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program; focused on helping organizations improve their performance. The Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program was established by Congress in 1988 to identify/recognize role model organizations establish criteria for performance excellence, based on role model activities, to promote performance improvement efforts disseminate/share best practices, as found in role model organizations. Describe RMPEx using the information on this slide. For Baldrige, explain that the criteria is based on what role model organizations do and consists of a set of questions about how the applicant organization does similar things.
The RMPEx/Baldrige Process The RMPEx/Baldrige Criteria tells organizations (through the criteria questions) how to integrate performance excellence into their activities. To self-assess, apply for feedback and/or an award, , organizations explain how they perform those activities. A team of examiners analyze the maturity of those activities. A feedback report is generated describing organizational strengths and opportunities for improvement (OFIs). Organizations create plans to sustain the strengths and address the OFIs. Activity Maturity Evaluation Examiners review the organization’s answers to the criteria questions and evaluate the maturity of the response. Appropriate to the criteria question and the organization’s needs? Effective in producing the criteria requirement?
