Today’s Expectations We will examine eight scenarios today. In each scenario, you will need to determine if the person is guilty or not guilty. Please write down your answers and why you think your answer is right.

Today’s Expectations Today’s class will include a lot of yelling. There are many right answers to every question. There is only one wrong answer today: silence. If you are a student who normally has a big mouth, please try to be a little more quiet than usual so that our shy students don’t give us the wrong answer.

Interpreting the Constitution a.k.a. NO VEHICLES IN THE PARK This is a story from a couple years back now, but a few years ago, the City of Clermont came up with a new ordinance about the big park off of 50. The ordinance just said, “no vehicles in the park.” My wife and son and I used to go to the park all the time, so we saw a lot of incidents after they put up the “No Vehicles in the Park” signs. I want you all to guess at what happened in each case. When I finish reading a case, feel free to discuss it with the class.

Mario: Guilty or Not Guilty? Mario lives on one side of town and works on the other. He will save 10 minutes if he drives through the park. Trinity and Meredith think they see him drive through the park. Mario: Guilty or Not Guilty?

Super Maesi: Guilty or Not Guilty? There are many trash barrels in the park. People put litter there to help keep the park clean. Super Maesi, with the power to fill and empty things, drives the Maesades Benz to each trash barrel to use her powers to keep the park clean. Super Maesi: Guilty or Not Guilty?
