RTCP XR Blocks for multimedia quality metric reporting draft-wu-xrblock-rtcp-xr-quality-monitoring-04 Zorn Glen(gwz@net-zen.net ) Qin Wu (sunseawq@huawei.com) Roland Schott (Roland.Schott@telekom.de ) Kai Lee (leekai@ctbri.com.cn) 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei

Overview Background draft-wu-xrblock-rtcp-xr-quality-monitoring-04 is split from draft-wu-avt-rtcp-xr-quality-monitoring prior split of avt. 3rd presented in the IETF meeting. draft discusses QoE metric for multimedia application. 03 version contains a few changes that follow consensus of monitoring architecture document. No IPR concerned. 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei

Changes since 00 version Separate Summary statistics metric, layered stream statistics, synchronization delay and offset from this draft Use Mos Type field in the XRBlock header to distinguish different MoS types Define and use a Numeric format for MoS value Change 32bits MoS Value into 16bits MoS Value Clarify the algorithm calculation for MoS. Replace MoS-A with MoS-LQ and MoS-CQ. Reference update Other Editorial Changes. 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei

Metric block overview Multimedia QoE metrics Metric Block Name: Multimedia Quality Metrics Block Metric Name: MoS Value Measurement method: If MoS type is MoS-LQ and MoS-CQ, use measurement method defined in ITU-T Recommendation [G.107][P.564] or ETSI TS ETSI TS 101 329-5. If MoS type is MoS-V or MoS-AV, use measurement method defined in [P.NAMS],[P.BNAMS]. 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei

Open issue Issue 1: Do we need to distinguish different MOS algorithms to calculate MOS value for each MOS Type? Option 1: Yes it is more desirable to use signaling to distinguish them? No need to reflect it in the XR format. Option 2:Yes assign additional field in XR Block payload to distinguish them? Recommendation: Option 1: Issue 2: Do we need to distinguish collecting data from different channel? Option 1:Yes, Option 2: No, audio data in all channel is typically carried in one RTP flow, Layered video sent in each RTP flow. Leave this for specific implementation. 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei

Follow Up Adoption as work item? Question? 2018/9/14 AVTCore IETF 82 Taipei
