Summary Russia has a long and strong tradition in APP. Two last decades were not the best years for scientific researches in Russia. Nevertheless, main research centers and facilities have survived. Some exciting experiments to come. Several unique infrastructures are available (Baksan, Baikal, etc). Encouraging national plans exist, foreign collaborators are welcome. Close collaboration with Europe was successful and forms a natural component of the Russian APP strategy.
