BALD EAGLE

Habitat The bald eagle mostly nests in western Washington and usually near lakes and rivers.

As you can see they mostly live in western washington.

Nesting The bald eagle makes their nests out of sticks, and they are called eyries. They make there nests on tall trees or on cliffs. They continue to build up their nests each year, there nests can weigh up to 2,000 pounds.

The bald eagle

Behavior The bald eagle is usually seen flying on flat wings with strong and slow wing beats.

Diet Bald eagles eat many fish dead or alive mostly salmon because it’s the best tasting.

Description The bald eagle is our national bird of the USA. It has a dark brown body a white head and yellow beak and feet.

Migrating status Most hatched bald eagles stay in western Washington but some migrate to different states to find more food to eat.

Conversation status The bald eagle originally came from Canada or Alaska but now mostly lives in western Washington.

NATRUL AND HUMAN THREATS. One of their main threats is people cutting down trees because most of their nests they build in trees so when people cut them down the bald eagles usually die.

Life span In the wild they usually live up to 30 years old. The shortest they usually live is 15 years.

Personal connection One day I was at my friends house and we were playing basketball outside and we looked up and saw that there was a bald eagle nests in his tree so we waited a little while and after about 10 to 20 minutes of waiting we saw the mom bald eagle come back with some worms in her mouth so we thought there must be baby birds up there. The whole thing was really cool.
