MODULE 4 EXPLORING THE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) BUSINESS WORLD

MODULE 4 The ICT sector is the most dynamic sector of the European Union Economy. Changes in technology are very rapid and produce changes across all areas of life: business, services, domestic and leisure activities. The shortage of skills, the new ICT professions that are coming up, and the new job profiles that are emerging offer new and exciting employment opportunities for women and men.

MODULE 4 What you can use this module for This module provides information on: A. The major ICT job profiles (21). B. The ICT companies that employ ICT professionals (Info:Ellas,Uk,Germany, Cyprus) C. The ICT areas associated with the ICT profiles (competencies you should be acquainted with, if you wish to have a career in the ICT sector )

MODULE 5 Due to economic globalization and rapid technological advances, the integration of learning into adult life is crucial to ensure employability and career development. The knowledge and skills one learns as a child and as a young person at home, at schools, at colleges, at universities does not last a lifetime; therefore needs to be constantly updated. LIFELONG LEARNING

MODULE 5 This Module gives you the opportunity to access useful information on training opportunities. Higher Education Initial Education/Training Further Training (e.g., current programs, seminars, etc) Scholarships and Financial support Recognition of Higher Education Degrees European Info/Networks

MODULE 6 Making Career Choices

MODULE 6 This module will help you set career goals, based on who you are and where you want to go. Career Goals are where we want to get; what we aspire and plan to accomplish, achieve or attain. They are part of our “life-plan”.

MODULE 6 All the modules are connected so here the review sheets come automatically. If you have not gone through the previous modules the Tool will bring the forms of the review sheets blank, so you can fill in the necessary information.

MODULE 6 Your Profile - Important Personal Factors Your Life Conditions i.e. health factors Your Support Network i.e. family Your Learning Style i.e. auditory learner Preferred ways of learning i.e. by observation

MODULE 6 YOUR CAREER GOALS The 21 ICT job profiles are prioritized according to the responses The order is based on the responses to the ICT areas and key skills/competencies. By clicking on each profile title, you can see the ICT areas and key skills/competencies required by the given profile coloured according to your responses

MODULE 6 Goal Setting is a life long Process. Once you have completed one Goal, be sure to replace it with another.

Developing your Action Plan MODULE 7 Developing your Action Plan

MODULE 7 The three job profiles you have chosen with the resulting learning needs can be found. This module will offer the opportunity to make the action plan that will enable you to achieve your goals.

MODULE 7 In order to reach a decision you could review and print the three profiles you have chosen. You have to decide for the best choice, because is like you are having a second chance to start your life.
