Sustainable Development GOALS (SDGs) 2030 Embraces the three dimensions of sustainability – economic, social and environmental 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will build on the progress achieved under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)  Formally adopted by world leaders gathering at United Nations special summit: September 2015, New York Puts people at its centre and gives the international community impetus it needs to work together to tackle the formidable challenges confronting humanity, including those in the world of work. “most inclusive development agenda the world has ever seen”

Decent Work Agenda is well captured in the Goals and Targets The importance of decent work  in achieving sustainable development is highlighted by Goal 8  which aims to: “promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all”

Targets under GOAL 8 provision of social protection eradication of forced and child labour increasing productivity addressing youth employment SMEs and skills development ……an indispensable response to the economic and social needs of people and governments everywhere.

ILO Focus on GOAL 4 Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning  4.4 By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship 4.5 Eliminate gender disparities in education and ensure equal access to all levels of education 4.b By 2020, substantially expand globally the number of scholarships available to developing countries for enrolment in higher education, including vocational training. 4.c By 2030, substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers
