LiU Junior Faculty Club A network for and by junior researchers VT2015 February 11, 15:15 - 18:30, Planck, IFM, Campus Valla “Forum Forum and Junior Faculty 2015 Edition” Experience the synergy of two young organizations at LiU – Forum Scientium and Junior Faculty. The aim of the event is to give the opportunity to start up joint multidisciplinary research projects. A range of speakers will briefly present their research along with suggestions for possible projects for cross-disciplinary collaborations. This will be followed by round-table discussions in smaller groups. March 2, 10:00 - 16:00, Nationernas hus, Linköping, C-salen “VR Grant: enhancing impact potential and domain-oriented insights” Bohdan Sklepkovych from the Grant Office will give tips on how to maximize your chances of being awarded a VR grant. This will be followed by the opportunity for informal discussions with successful researchers from each faculty. Take this chance to listen to advice from experienced scientists, increase you competence in grant application writing and improve your competitiveness as a researcher!   April 16, 15:30 - 18:30, Vallfarten, Campus Valla “Oral Communication Skill Development” Patrik Sandberg gives a 2 hour interactive talk in which he will train us to develop better communication skills. Learn how to convince your audience, whether expert or lay, and to be aware of your non-verbal communication! May 7, 15:30 - 17:30, Vallfarten, Campus Valla “Manage Stress at Work” How to strike a balanced between teaching, research, grant applications, expectations of supervisors and demands from students - Are we allowed to keep a private life?   June 13, 13:00 - 17:00, Nationernas hus, Linköping Reference group meeting and summer pub After a fruitful reference group meeting with strategic discussions, will we enjoy some food, beverages and each others company. Lunch Meetings for Junior Researchers! Every last Wednesday of the month in Universitetsklubben at 12.00. (Start on February, 25th / Lunch on participants own expenses, 110:-) All Junior Faculty Club events are followed by light food and beverages.
