What is a glide reflection? Warm Up What is a glide reflection?

Announcements Quiz Friday No more retention quizzes Retest needs to be done during tutorials by the end of the week.

Line of Symmetry A figure has line symmetry or reflectional symmetry if there is a reflection for which the figure is its own image. The line of reflection is called a line of symmetry and divides the figure in half.

Example: Reflectional Symmetry How many lines of symmetry does the rectangle have?

Rotational Symmetry A figure has rotational symmetry if there is a rotation of 180 degrees or less for which the figure is its own image.

Example: Rotational Symmetry Does this figure have rotational symmetry?

Point Symmetry A figure with 180 degree rotational symmetry also has point symmetry.

Example: Identify Symmetry Do the figures have reflectional symmetry, rotational symmetry, neither or both?
