Look ! What do you see? Is this a candy? or is this a toy?

No. Look carefully ! Whose eye is this? It’s a mantis’ eye.

A mantis is an insect. So, a mantis has six legs. and three body parts.

A mantis has very sharp two front legs. So,it can catch insets very well. mantis catching a cicada

A mantis is very wild. A mantis usually eats insects. Sometimes, they eat frogs, birds and small snakes. How scary !

A mantis has a protective color . In fall, a female mantis lays about 200 eggs. And then,it covers the eggs with bubble. After that, it dies. In spring, you will see a baby mantis. A mantis casts off the skin several times.

During the summer, we can see a mantis in a field. If you see a mantis, look carefully. But, don’t touch it ! Remember the sharp legs !
