Prepare Rigid Antenna Foundation. Ground Base: Location: no water source close by Soil underneath the concrete must be dense. Wait for the concrete to be dry before attaching antenna stand on top Make sure to use stainless steel screws. Concrete Pole Base: Concrete Pole must be securely installed on the ground. Stand should be securely tighten with the iron pole. Wall Base: Brick wall: concrete between bricks must be strong enough to hold the antenna, not drywall. Adjusting Azimuth Angle Use compass to find the azimuth angle. To ensure an accurate compass reading, stay away from large metal objects and magnetic source. To double check accuracy, take multiple reading several feet apart. The compass needle reading is according to the magnetic North or nearby magnetic source, however the Az angle is based on the True North. Adjusting Elevation Angle Loosen Elevation Locking bolts in curved slots and pivot bolts (both sides) 1/2 turn. Turn elevation adjustment bolt clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase elevation. Align the edge of clamp with appropriate mark on housing at the desired elevation angle. Polarization Angle (POL ) Polarization is a way to orient transmission signals in a specific direction. IPSTAR uses linear polarization. Rotate the reflector until the indicator mark on the reflector align with skew angle on Az/El/Skew Cap Mount.
