Philippians 2:5-11 (NKJV) Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Coronation of the Messiah (Philippians 2:5-11)

Daniel 7 A Vision of Empires (7:1-8, 15-28) Babylonian (2:36; 7:4) Medo-Persian (2:39a; 7:5) Grecian (2:39b; 7:5) Roman (2:40-44; 7:7-8)

Daniel 7 A Vision of Empires (7:1-8, 15-28) A Vision of Judgment Against Those that Oppose God (7:9-12; 21-22; 26-27)

Daniel 7 A Vision of Empires (7:1-8, 15-28) A Vision of Judgment Against Those that Oppose God (7:9-12; 21-22; 26-27) A Vision of Victory and Crowning (7:13-14)

Daniel 7 (The Inspired Interpretation) The four beasts represent four kingdoms, that would rise in succession (7:17). But then the saints of God, the servants of the Most High, would receive a kingdom that will never be taken away from them (7:18). Daniel asked about the 4th beast with its 10 horns & its little horn that he saw wage war with the saints, and then was judged by the Ancient of Days (7:19-22). The beast represented the 4th empire to come in the succession, and the horns were kings within that kingdom; and the little horn was a king who would speak against the Most High (7:23-25). God had already determined judgement upon that horn, and his power was taken away. All power, and the greatness of the kingdom throughout the world, would be given to the saints of the Most High (7:26-27).

Acts, Chapter 1 The Ascension (Acts 1:4-11) Jesus’ disciples watched as the Christ arose from the earth and ascended into the heavens. They watched until He was hidden by the clouds. That story shows the ascension of Christ into heaven from an earthly viewpoint.

The Coronation Scene Revelation 4-5 God is sitting upon the throne, holding a book in His hand (Rev. 4:3-5; 5:1-4). As John watches, and describes for us, One comes into heaven (Rev. 5:5). This One is standing as if it were a lamb that had been slain in sacrifice (Rev. 5:6). The lamb approaches God on the throne, takes the book, and is worshiped by all the beings in heaven and upon the earth (Rev. 5:7-14). This is the coronation scene of the Lamb of God, of the Christ – the One who had come to earth as the divine Son of Man, now having been offered as a sacrifice, and ready to receive His glory! It is the ascension of Christ as seen from heaven’s side of the cloud!!

The Lamb Took the Scroll He Now Receives Worship Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Psalms 24:7-10 (NKJV) "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." Psalms 2:6 (NKJV)

The Triumph of Christ’s Return When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive (Eph. 4:7- 10; Ps. 68:18). Exalted at the right hand of God (Acts 2:33). All things subjected unto Him except God (1 Cor. 15:24-28).

CONCLUSION How blessed we are, with our completed Bibles (1 Pet. 1:10-11) ! God already knew that the government of the day would persecute His cause and His saints. He already had the judgment of that persecuting force set! (Victory was never in question!) God is in control… And He will continue to be victorious over all foes. Christ has been crowned King of kings and Lord of lords. He now reigns, and must reign, until the last enemy is conquered, which is death.
