Larch Class’ Mathematical Teddy Bears Picnic

First we wrote invitations inviting our families to the picnic. Next we showed the value of teamwork by working in groups, deciding what food we would like!

The list of foods we would like to make were: Number biscuits Shape sandwiches Jelly and Ice cream

Rectangular and triangular shaped sandwiches.” Abbie Once we decided what filling we would like, we cut our sandwich into different shapes! “Some of us had square, Rectangular and triangular shaped sandwiches.” Abbie

We measured out how much of each of the ingredients we would need to make the number biscuits! “We needed to weigh the ingredients…some were heavier and some were lighter.” Kayson

After all our planning and organising, we walked to Capel Manor Gardens for our picnic!

We especially liked the number biscuits and shaped sandwiches! “It took a long time to walk there but it was worth it!” Joseph

After our picnic we enjoyed playing games with our teddy bears and families! “The best bit was eating my sandwich I made” “I loved the activities for the picnic”
