HOLIDAYS AND FEAST DAYS

HOLIDAYS AND FEAST DAYS EASTER is celebrated in Spring as Jesus´crucifixion and the Resurection. Eggs are traditionally dyed and decorated. In Britain and the U.S.A. children look for hidden chocolate eggs. SAINT VALENTINES DAY is celebrated on 14th February. It is lovers´day. People send Valentine cards and buy little presents each other.

CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS EVE - 24th December – we have fried carp and potato salad for Christmas dinner. People open their gifts under the decorated Christmas tree. CHRISTMAS DAY -25th December- children in the UK and the US unwrap their presents in the morning. Families gather for festive Christmas dinner.

NEW YEAR´S EVE People stay up till midnight to drink a toast to welcome the beginning of the New Year. This event is usually accompanied with parties and fireworks.
