Principles of Effective Communication By Rupert Bowerman

Being accurate with what you are saying is very important when providing a presentation to lots of people because if they are taught the wrong infomation then they will learn the wrong things menaing that if they in the future are needed to teach others they will also pass this wrong information along. Making sure that all of the information that is correct before the time of the pressentation is very important so that whilst the presentation is being given that if the audience has any questions that they can be answered.

Being able to distinguish between facts and opinions is also very important because one persons opinion can be very different comapred to someone elses, whereas somones fact will be the same as another persons fact. Opinions on some topics can cause offence to other groups of people wheres because facts are the truth that have been verified by others this means that opinions might not always be right whereas facts will always be correct.

Being able to chair a question and answer session is also very important as if the audience have any questions that they would like to know the answers to and to find out what they answer is there and then. A very large part of a question and answer is being able to listen to what the person is asking and then not only being able to explain to that one person but also to be explaining what is being asked to some people that may not even understand what is being asked at the time.

I feel that being able to listen to what someone is saying is very important because even if you have a very stong opinion on somthing it is still important and polite to listen to other peoples point of veiws and to take what they say into account. It might even turn out that what they are saying would make sense and might even change your mind on some topics. Much like listening is a very important skill it is also usefull that there is eye contact when talking with someone because it means that the other person can see that you are listening to them.

Being able to read body language is a very important skill becauseif somone is upset about somthing or is angry about somthing then they might not actully say what they are feeling like but if you are able to read the body language then it nice not just for the person that is upset.

Being able to understand what somone is asking as a question is also very important because without this understanding then theyre are few conversations that could actually take place. therefore if the conversation is not very interesting then the will be little to no conversation created betweent he two or more peole involved.

Being patient is very important when it comes to working in a workplace with lots of other people. This is because there are instances where other people can wind others up and being patient with them can help in great ways. It is also a very important that others around the office are also very patient when it comes to using technology that might not be working.

another example of a skill that is very important is when speaking to somone is to speak in an interresting way and to not talk in a monotous tone. This will make the listener more interrested in what you have to say. If somone is talking in a low droning voicethen the listener will switch of through no fault of their own because they may not be excited about what is being spoken to them.

Avoiding speaking in a negative way also makes the conversation more enjoyable for both parties involved in most cases. This is because being optimistic about problems can lead to a higher chance of the problem being solved.
