Who are your characters: African slaves White sea merchants White Plantation owners Other black slaves etc… Your character’s experience in Africa. What was their life like before becoming a slave? Their home Their family Activities How were they caught? Methods Who by Key Words African, tribe, slaver, chain, net, Islam, hut, white man, gun. Your character’s experience of the middle passage. What were the conditions on ship? See Hear Smell Feel What happened during the journey? In the hold On the deck Uprising? Key Words Merchant, Captain, Sailor, Ship, Sea, Chain, Shackle, Brand, Dance, Food, Rebellion. Your character’s life like on the plantation. What was their work like?
