MOCK DRILL- On 1st April, our young buds of J. V. M MOCK DRILL- On 1st April, our young buds of J.V.M. Sholtu were practicing Mock Drill on earth quake. It is a participatory method to practice the safety related measures and evacuation of a building during an emergency situation. Class nursery to class V participated in the drill. YOGA- Yoga for children is a relaxation technique that reduces stress and tension, relieve tiredness and enhance mental clarity. J.V.M. Sholtu provide this healthy way to its students through yoga classes on every Thursday and Saturday.

INTER-HOUSE RANGOLI COMPETITION INTERHOUSE RANGOLI COMPETITION- Rangoli is an artistic art work designed on the floors, on almost every Indian festival. Keeping up the Indian culture, students of J.V.M. Sholtu also brightened up their Saturday afternoon with unique rangoli designs based on various themes. SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES RAM NAVAMI AND PARSHURAM JAYANTI- The festival of Ram Navami was observed in the school on 3rd April. Students of class IV presented a melodious bhajan reflecting the moral values as imparted by Lord Rama. An inspirational song was dedicated to Lord Parshuram by class VI students on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti. POEM RECITATION – Poetry provides comfort, a way to express ourselves and our ideas. The children of class I and II recited their feelings and exposed themselves to different verse in English. NATURE WALK- On 8th April the tiny-tots were busy enjoying their nature walk. All dressed up in green colour as if in co-ordination with nature, the NUR and KG children had great fun, appreciating nature’s tranquility. This was followed by vegetable print of their own choice. SMC MEETING- School Management Committee builds a critical bridge between the community and school to improve the management of schools. It also ensures that all basic requirements of the school are being met as par right to education. The school had its SMC meeting on 10th of April2017, to discuss and debate for the betterment of the school.

HIMACHAL DAY- Special assembly on Himachal Day was held on 13th April HIMACHAL DAY- Special assembly on Himachal Day was held on 13th April. The day was celebrated by performing the richly hued Kinnauri Nati- the dance mainly focusing on nature, based upon rhythm and music- the very culture essence of the state.

FIRE SAFETY WEEK (DRILL) Fire Drill is a method of practicing the evacuation of a building for a fire emergency and is an essential part of J.V.M. curriculum. Such drills are necessary for the students to learn many safety procedures and skills, which can save them and other students during a life threatening situation. LAPTOP WINNERS- J.V.M. is proud for their young genius who were awarded laptops by the H.P government for their excellent performance in class X for the academic year 2016. Out of 32 Laptops awarded to District Kinnaur, 11 laptops were awarded to the students of JVM Sholtu.

CHILDREN’S BOOK DAY- Children’s Book Day is celebrated to improve the love of reading and to call attention to children’s books. The aim is promote importance of reading habits to our children. J.V.M. celebrated this day by organizing a notice board competition wherein the children along with their house teachers provided a variety of stories, poems, verses and fictions for the school. The tales of Hungary lion, the stories of strange and wonderful creatures of the fairy land, stimulated the growth of our children’s imagination. Let us all spread the love of reading with the children on Children’s Book Day. The winners were- 1ST SATLUT HOUSE 2ND BASPA HOUSE 3RD CHENAB HOUSE 3RD NARMADA HOUSE

SPELL WELL COMPETITION SPELL WELL- Spell Well competition was organized to enhance the vocabulary of the children. Students of class I and II were motivated to take part and the participation was awesome. The competition was well received by the children and parents as well. The winners of the competition were- SPELL WELL COMPETITION 1ST 2ND 3RD CLASS 1 VAGISHA AADHYA SIDDHANT CLASS 2 KRITIKA DHRAIK ARADHYA LAW DEEPTI PIYUSH ARYAN SHARMA

INTER-HOUSES BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION BEST OUT OF WASTE- To teach our young students a creative way to handle non-degradable waste and to give them lessons on reducing waste, to save our future a ‘Best Out of Waste’ competition was organized for students of class III to V. Mind blowing ideas were demonstrated by the students. KAVI SAMMELAN POSITION 1ST 2ND 3RD CLASS VI VII VIII IX X XI XII KAVI SAMMELAN- Kavi Sammelan is a gathering of poets, wherein the participants recite their poetry before an audience. Young poets at J.V.M. also tried to become a part of the Indian culture and sang verse based on Rishtey i.e. ‘Relation’ the theme of the sammelan. NATIONAL DE-WORMING DAY- National de-worming day was observed on 27th April2017 in Kinnaur district, as per the direction of chief medical officer. J.V.M. Sholtu being an integral part of kinnaur observed the same. The aim is to de-worm all the children, to improve their well being, for better cognitive development. BOARD RESULT- Hard work is the key to success and our students of Class 12th has brought laurels to the school by their efforts. Master Kaushal Negi scored the first position with 93% , Master Deepak Negi got the Second position with 92.2% & Miss. Shaifali Negi got third position in school with 92%.
