Food, Hunting, Farming The Arapaho Indians farmed and were nomadic buffalo hunters. They ate buffalo, elk, deer, fruit, and a variety of roots. Additionally, the Arapaho ate a berry (choke berry) that was cooked and mixed with meat in order to make jerky. During hard times, they were also known to eat dogs.  It was hard to be a nomadic buffalo hunter and a farmer at the same time but the Arapaho tribe harvested enough corn to supplement the meat they caught hunting. http://images.nationalgeographic.com/wpf/media-live/photos/000/058/cache/relentless-buffalo-herd_5857_600x450.jpg http://www.assiniboinetipis.com/images/buffalo3.jpg The buffalo hide would be used for blankets and covers for the peoples horses. Buffalo would run in herds and would not just be alone.

Weapons, Tools, Relationships with other Tribes The Arapaho Indians used buffalo for tools and weapons which impacted the relationships with other tribes. The most popular weapon was the bow and arrow, but the Arapaho Indians did use spears and hide shields. The Arapaho Indian hunters were known for their skill of shooting arrows. They had good relationships with the Cheyenne and Sioux tribe. The Arapaho tribe was always at war with the Shoshoni tribe, the Pawnee tribe and the Ute tribe. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TEUjmRZYmyU/S9X3VbhCSJI/AAAAAAAAERI/gNzKCO-qQuE/s1600/two+indian+tools.jpg http://warewolfninjas.webs.com/bow_arrows.jp The Arapaho Indians used the bow and arrow to kill the buffalo and they used arrow heads on the front of the arrow to kill.
