Hitler Takes Power Alfons Helen Hitler leading army Home Hitler Takes Power Alfons Helen Alfons is enthusiastic when Hitler comes to power because it means he can join Hitler Youth. Hitler also tells them that they will rule the world some day. For Helen, Hitler coming to power means doom because of all the things he has been saying about them. It also forces them to move away from home. (to Amsterdam) Hitler leading army

Hitler preaching to Youth Home Hitler Youth Alfons Helen Alfons joins the Hitler Youth as soon as he can because of the promises Hitler makes them. Hitler brainwashed Alfons and the other Hitler Youth so they were doing bad things and they didn’t know about it. When more and more kids joined the Hitler Youth that meant that more and more people were against the Jews. The Hitler Youth served as more German police enforcing new laws concerning the Jews. Hitler preaching to Youth Hitler Youth

Kristallnacht Alfons Helen Home Kristallnacht Alfons Helen On the Kristallnacht Alfons and other Hitler Youth were throwing rocks and other objects at Jewish building and shops. This is the night where Germans determined whether or not they followed Hitler, Alfons parents didn’t but he did. This is the night that Hitler followers really showed the Jews their hate for them. The Jewish synagogues and stores were burned leaving the Jews without jobs, food, and places to pray. After Kritallnacht Synagogue burning

Boy being arrested by Nazis Home Betraying of Jews Helen Alfons Many Jews were sold out and betrayed by the Germans they were living with because the Germans were bribed with the Jews possessions and money. This led to Helen being arrested by the Nazis in her hiding place. Alfons was not affected by the arresting of Jews, neither was the rest of the Hitler Youth, they were brain washed into thinking it was right. Boy being arrested by Nazis

Train entrance to Auschwitz Home W Concentration Camps Alfons Helen When the Jews are beginning to be sent to concentration camps like Auschwitz, it is the downfall of most of them, seeing as most of them die In the concentration camps. This is also when most Jews are separated from their families like Helen was from Doris. When Auschwitz opens this is when Hitler makes a big lie, a lie saying that the Jews are just being sent to work, not to be killed. When Alfons and other Hitler youth find out what is happening to the Jews this is when they start to believe what Hitler was a mad man. Train entrance to Auschwitz

Germany loses war Alfons Helen Home Germany loses war Alfons Helen After Germany loses the war Alfons and other Hitler Youth are in a state of shock and disbelief that the fatherland had lost. After the war Hitler Youth and Nazis are forced to choose between life and supporting their country, Alfons chose to take his life. When the war ends, the Americans free the slaves at the concentration camps and are free from the wrath of the Nazis. Once the War is over the Jews can begin to rebuild their lives if they aren't to scarred from the camps. German town destroyed

The move to America Helen Alfons Home The move to America Helen Alfons When Helen moves to America he can start to heal from the things happening to her in Germany, as did other Jews. America was the place of freedom. Other Jews moved to America to forget, they didn’t want to remember what had happened to them. Many other Nazis after realizing what had happened right under their nose moved away hoping to create a new peaceful life.
