CAAF/2 - Facts about the conference Conference in Mexico City 11-13 October Follow-up to a similar conference held in 2009 29 ICAO Member States participated Broad participation from stakeholders 8 States from Europe 3 from N-ALM States (FI, NO, SE) European coordination – ECAC44 and EU28 Purpose of the conference: Establish an ICAO Vision for future work on alternative fuels
CAAF/2 - The resulting declaration of the meeting "the ICAO Vision 2050" No specific quantitative targets "Significant proportion of conventional aviation fuels to be substituted" Explicit reference to sustainability Sustainable aviation fuels not defined "CORSIA pacakage" – not re-opened here Risk of double counting addressed CAAF/3 in 2025 at the latest Aviation and the other transport modes
