What is IPv4? ● Allows for 4 billion internet adresses ● This is no longer enough for all of the devices on earth ● 32 bit adresses ● Designed in the late 70s, when there weren’t many modern devices

What is IPv6? ● Allows for 340 trillion, trillion, trillion internet adresses ● This is ● 128 bit adresses ● Allows every person on earth to have billions of adresses for every device they own

Who is using IPv6? ● Facebook ● Google ● Yahoo ● Wikipedia ● Youtube

Why Should Businesses Employ IPv6? ● Inevitability - IPv6 will soon be the only option for adding new devices or hosts on the internet. ● Efficiency - IPv6 eliminates most of the address conflict issues common under IPv4, and enables more streamlined connections and communication for devices. ● Security - IPv6 encrypts traffic and checks packet intergrity to provide VPN-like protection for standard Internet traffic.
