How to become a Marketing Manager Julia’s Career Path How to become a Marketing Manager

My Career Goals I want to become Marketing Manager by 2025 To get there, I will need to: Graduate high school by 2020. Keep my grades up. Get a lot of work/volunteering hours. Doing my extra-curricular activities.

What is a Marketing Manager? Marketing Managers identify potential markets for the organization’s products and they also develop pricing strategies to help companies strengthen their profits while making sure that the companies customers are satisfied.  Creating promotional messages and themes to drive business Coordinating marketing strategies across multiple channels Managing budgets for media and marketing campaigns Testing new marketing messages, channels, and opportunities Building relationships with national and local media outlets

About my future career As a Marketing Manager, you work in an office with your co-workers or you can work at your home. $65,000 is the median salary of a Marketing Manager. Most marketing managers work 37 hours a week, between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

My job has a 6.9% chance of becoming automated http://www.npr.org/sections/money/ 2015/05/21/408234543/will-your-job- be-done-by-a-machine I think a marketing managers job won’t become automated because there is a lot of communication and selling involved that a robot wouldn’t be able to do.

My compatibility I am 82% compatible with this job. The skills this job requires are: Creativity Organization skills Budgeting Planning and Execution Office skills Digital marketing skills Communication and writing skills

Marketing Managers would be great for me because… I already have these skills for this career: Creativity Organization Planning and execution Digital skills

I am not quite ready for this career, but I will get there! These are skills for the job I still need to learn: This is how I will get those necessary skills: Writing Practicing Speaking Read more

Job Outlook In BC, the job outlook is #2 of 3 stars. Here are 2 reasons why: The job can be stressful at times because of due dates and they have to travel to meet clients.

This is what appeals to me with this career… A marketing manager can also help with the design of the products package. I have always liked being creative while working, so this caught my eye when reading all about a marketing manager. A marketing manager creates strategies to help companies with selling. This is another appealing objective about the job because I think it would be fun to work with others to come up with a selling plan.

These are some things I find less appealing about this career… One of the things I find less appealing about this career is they evaluate product demand because I don’t like assuming about stuff in the future that might not happen. A marketing manager would have to do a few projects which would mean having to work sometimes late.

Potential obstacles to getting this career The possible obstacles: Other candidates My plan to overcome them: No one is hiring Be different from everyone else Hand out resume for when they want to hire.

Potential obstacles to being successful within this career The possible obstacles: Competition My plan to overcome them: satisfactory To always stay on task, keep myself happy while my boss is happy, and always have my work ready and finished. Due date for hand ins

The training/education required for my career is: The education requirements for a marketing manager are bachelor’s/masters degree in marketing or a master’s degree in business administration.

I intend to go to Simon Fraser University for that career Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada I would take the business program at SFU 3 terms is the length of the program You would earn the BBA certificate (bachelor of business administration)

High school courses required Grade 11 courses: Grade 12 courses: Math: Foundations 11 All of the courses you need to graduate and any courses that can help you with getting into business. English 11 Science and technology 11 or physics 11 Language other than English

English 11, Language 11, Science 11, Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of 60%, English 12 with a minimum final blended grade of 60%, Graduate from high school The University is most know for it’s business program The main reason why I chose this university for business because of how great their program is and the quality of the university

Financial Plan $1,834.63 per term is the cost of the program I am going to pay for my program: working to pay for the program and if needed, ask family for help.

Some related occupations: Entrepreneur and sales manager are two occupations that are related to marketing manager

Marketing mangers are awesome!!! As a marketing manager you sometimes get to travel to meet clients, work with a team, and get to make pitches to other co- workers about how they should sell products.
