Describe what the Shahadah is. Briefly explain how important the Shahadah is to Muslims and why they take it seriously Briefly explain how this particular Pillar works Research how many places of worship there are in your community and interview 5 people Interview 5 people in your community asking them if they attend or are part of a ‘religious community’ Ask the same 5 people if they are actively involved in helping their community (e.g. charity or helping the local football team) See the main sheet to help #1 : Kirpan Mini-Assessment You are to write a letter to the head teacher of a school who have banned a Sikh student from wearing and displaying her Kirpan (ceremonial dagger worn by Khalsa Sikhs) to school. You must provide two different points of view on why Gurjit Kaur should and shouldn’t wear her Kirpan to school. Try to explain using different reasons based on the Sikh religion and what you have learnt in lesson. You must include relevant keywords and demonstrate overall which view you mainly agree with.
