myON NEWS – NOW Available! Grades K-12 5 daily news articles English & Spanish text 3 levels of text Multimedia supports Audio narration Related video Map Current events, written for students 10 Archived articles Daily news includes current events – even politics and entertainment drawn from current events and written for students Published every week-day with 5 articles Map shows where news happens relative to the reader Each article includes engaging multimedia (like videos and photos), as well as audio

myON News Levels 540L 790L myON News offers articles at 3 various Lexile levels. Educators will be able to see these levels based on the time stamp located at the bottom of the article. Ending times of 5:01, 5:02, 5:03 will indicate which level each article is. RANGES: 5:01 = 400-600L 5:02 = 600-750L 5:03 = 750-1050L If the school has myON Reader the article is based on the student’s Lexile level. If the school is a myON News school only the article Lexile level is set by grade level. 690L

Based on how students are reviewing the article (thumbs up or thumbs down) will help the folks at myON News know what types of articles they publisher on any given day. Faculty and administrator reporting allows you to see which articles are the most popular, and which students are using myON News

What Headline Do You Want Your Students Reading? All articles are reviewed by a child psychologist. Students hear about troubling events, but may not have all the information – causing fear or uncertainty. With myON News, the event is reported on with information to help allay those concerns and fears News that is appropriate for younger grade levels, even when discussing sensitive topics
