Re Google, you could use the examples we used in class - Korean missile crisis, Vegan diet, Football transfers, etc. - to illustrate how Google can be a very useful tool for research. In relation to social media, you have made many valid points. You could add more detail by referring to specific example of a journalist using social media. Re archives, you could say more about they are invaluable when it comes to a journalist needing access to a historical document. Don't forget to use capital letters to start a sentence! Re primary and secondary research sources, discuss the types of sources used specifically by journalists (look at the powerpoint on primary and secondary research sources). You have evaluated different research methods thoroughly. Finally, try to say something about how journalists these days need multimedia skills, and you could use the BBC News website to illustrate how journalists produce not only print but also video and audio. You have demonstrated a very good understanding of the purpose of research in journalism and have discussed relevant tools, skills and methods in detail. 2.1 Critically compare a range of primary and secondary research sources. As above 3.1 Apply design and research tools, methods and skills to record and interpret information and develop ideas for creative production.  Your research portfolio evidences a good range of research methods used and a focus on gathering relevant information in line with your aims. To develop this, you could focus more on primary research e.g. focus groups, interviews, Twitter polls, etc. In order to gather more qualitative data. 3.2 Evaluate the effectiveness of design and research tools methods and skills.  Your evaluation is good in terms of highlighting the usefulness of the research you did and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of your research.
